Momentum Action 2008

This mission began as a response to Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf requesting doctors come to Liberia to help with the overwhelming medical needs in the country. Project Momentum is partnering up with Mount Sinai Medical Center and the Clinton Global Initiative to send a surgical support team to Liberia. The Mission dates are January 5 to January 18, 2008.
Dr. Jeffrey S. Freed will lead this mission and 28 other team members will accompany him. Robin Solomon is the head of U.S. logistics for this mission and Barnie Doe Jones is the Project Momentum Logistical Director. Included amongst these doctors are general surgeons, anesthesiologist, OB/GYN, pediatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, radiologist, and ophthalmologist. Medical students and a videographer will accompany these doctors. The doctors will be based in two hospitals in Monrovia, JFK Hospital and Phebe Hospital.

Momentum Action 2005

Project Momentum partnered up with the Mercy Ship and Scott Harrison in the summer of 2005 to provide medical support aboard the mercy ship stationed in Liberia. Our partnership provided aid that helped the surgeries such as cleft lip and palate, cataract removal, straightening of crossed eyes, orthopedic and facial reconstruction. We would like thank Direct Relief International for working with Project Momentum on this mission. Over 48 surgeries were performed and this story was simply magical.
