Mission
The Caranda Education Fund offers opportunities for financial aid to students in the education system in Liberia. Serving as a national advocate for the importance of Liberian higher education by representing the public policy interests of its students.
The CEF Scholarship is awarded to a select group of students on the basis of exceptional talent and performance ability. The award ranges from $50.00 to $1,000.00 US dollars and is renewable. Doughba H. Caranda-Martin the Founder of CEF, Caranda Fine Foods and Global Partners funds the scholarship program.

Our Partners, like the students they support, lead their communities, contribute to renewing our country education spirit and change history by protecting the minds of the future. Become a partner by contacting us.

Students
Students are the heart of our work. Providing scholarships and influencing educational policy begin and end with them.

Government of Liberia
The Curriculum Guide Program or CGP is the current problem Liberia educational system lacks. This area is a strong focus of CEF.
CEF is communicating with the government to better understand the difficulties at hand. This will enhance CEF results.

Educators and Teachers
As a Teacher or Educator, you will witness firsthand the challenges and rewards of education in a classroom.  You will share the skills and knowledge gained through your education and life experience with students who have not had the same advantages, and you will make a concrete and lasting difference in their lives. An Educator of the year award will be given by CEF each academic year.

“Our Educators have the possibility of understanding how to be useful, of discovering what is possible. I see them as the Gate Keepers who mold and structure us for the future. I am a product of many great Liberian Educators. I believe in them and we must protect and honor the great work they do everyday. Educators provide cultural understanding and the ability to work independently in a new environment.”
    Doughba H. Caranda-Martin III, Founder CEF, c. 2009

Family
Providing assistance to Families that goes beyond material aid, as we believe this is of far greater and more lasting value. To this end helping Families by awarding them will produce the value we require in the home. This support will develop the future discipline we all hope to see restored. The growth of our nation would be a direct result. The future is in our hands.  A Mother Caranda award will be give to a Family in Education each year by CEF.

Requirement
Recipients of scholarship must maintain a minimum GPA of 85% each semester in which an award is held. This is not a cumulative GPA, but a semester GPA. If a student makes below the 85%, he/she is placed on one semester of probation, in which the GPA of that semester must be above a GPA of 85%. The cumulative GPA might still be under 85% at this point, but the scholarship will be maintained provided each semester thereafter is 85% or above. During or after the probation semester, if the GPA for a particular semester is under 85%, the scholarship will be revoked. For single-year scholarships a previous cumulative GPA of 85% is not necessary for consideration, but must be maintained while a recipient. The student receives the same right to a probationary semester, but should the semester of probation not meet a GPA of 85%, then the student will not be eligible for consideration of any further scholarship funds.

Students will be credited with an awarded scholarship at the beginning of each semester. Failure to meet contract requirements will result in permanent revocation of the award. If contract requirements are not met for a semester in which the award is presented, all or a portion of the award will be removed from the
Student.
